About Milk kefir
Milk Kefir Grains produce a cultured, fermented milk drink, originally from the mountainous region that divides Asia and Europe. It is very similar in texture and taste to a pourable yoghurt – with a tangy and sour taste and a slight ‘fizz’.

Making your own Kefir at home costs significantly less than buying commercially and the kefir you make is far superior in taste, quality and bacterial content.
A vast variety of bacteria have been isolated and identified in kefir grains and recent research has shown 30 health benefits. Known bacterial species are among four groups; Lactobacilli, Streptococci Lactococci, Acetobacter and Yeasts.
Around the world over 50 strains of yeasts and bacteria have been identified in Milk kefir.
The fermentation process transforms the dairy sugarsinto various other substances making milk kefir suitable for most lactose sensitivities.
As Milk kefir is a fermented product a very small amount of alcohol is produced during the process (not enough to class the product as alcoholic) so this may need to be considered for those sensitive to alcohol or been advised to avoid it all together.
