Testing the pH of Kombucha
Testing pH is not a requirement for Kombucha brewing. In fact, most home brewers do not test the pH level of their batches. However if deviating from the standard recipe or you are just starting on your kombucha journey (e.g., use less sugar, use a tea other than black or green tea, etc.), pH can be a good indicator of culturing progress. Although PH testing will only tell you the PH of the brewand not tell you if it is "ready" it can be a helpful indicator. Ultimately we recommend using good judgment and adhering to a standard recipe when brewing Kombucha Tea. If in doubt, never consume Kombucha Tea that looks, smells, or tastes unpleasant.
