Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to brew, ferment and enjoy our cultures, including customers who are blind or partially sighted, Deaf or hard of hearing, or who just find small print hard going. This page explains what we've done to help, and how to ask us for anything else you need.
Listening to our guides
Our brewing and fermenting guides have a Listen to this guide button near the top. Press it and your device reads the guide aloud, highlighting each part as it goes so you can follow along.
- Press Pause to pause, and Resume to carry on from where you stopped.
- Press Stop to stop reading.
- Choose Slower, Normal speed or Faster to change the reading speed.
- If you've scrolled down the page, it starts reading from the section you're looking at.
The voice comes from your own phone, tablet or computer, so it may sound different on different devices. If you already use a screen reader, such as VoiceOver, TalkBack or NVDA, our guides use proper headings, lists and tables, so you can jump straight to the section you need.
Making the text bigger
On every guide, use the A+ and A− buttons to make the text larger or smaller. There are four sizes, and the guide remembers your choice next time you visit on the same device.
You can also zoom any page on our website using your browser. On a computer, hold Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) and press + or −. On a phone or tablet, pinch to zoom.
Printing and downloading guides
Each guide has buttons to print it or save it as a PDF, either the whole guide or just the part you need, such as troubleshooting. Printed guides leave out the buttons and menus so they're easy to read.
Printing in large print: make the text bigger with the A+ button first, then print or save the guide. Your printout will use the bigger text size too, so you can make your own large-print copy of any guide.
Pictures and videos
We're adding written descriptions to the photos on our website, so screen readers can tell you what each picture shows. If you come across a picture that isn't described, or isn't described well, please let us know and we'll fix it.
Our step-by-step instructions are all written out in our guides, so you don't need to watch or listen to a video to follow them.
Contacting us without a phone call
All the ways to contact us are written, so you don't need to make or take a phone call:
- Web chat: use the chat button on any page of our website.
- Contact form: fill in the form on our contact page.
- WhatsApp: send us a message, a photo or a voice note, whichever is easiest for you. The details are on our contact page.
If something has gone wrong with your brew, a photo helps us a lot. If you can't take one, just describe what you can feel, smell or see, and we'll talk you through it.
Tell us what would help
We're a small family business and we're always learning. If anything on our website is hard to use with your device, or there's something that would make brewing easier for you, please get in touch. We'd really like to hear from you, and we'll do our best to help.
